Hugs

Working in a bar, you meet a lot of people. And being a patron extrovert in a bar, you meet even more. Talking to them all, you hear all the stories.

"We've entered as strangers, soon we have friends. And they come over and they sit with us and they drink us and they talk to us. And they tell us about the big terrible things they've done and the big wonderful things they'll do. Their hopes and their regrets. Their loves and their hates. All very large; because nobody ever brings anything small into a bar."
- "Harvey", 1950

Sometimes, you meet in passing and have fun during the Chiefs/Chargers game and go about your way, leaving knowing you made someone laugh at least once. Sometimes, you become best friends and can call on them any time of day to sleep on their couch - no matter HOW much they hate it (Sorry, Zach).

It's no secret that I believe that everything happens for a reason. And I am big believer that you meet these people all for a reason. This past year, I met a man that called himself Hammer at the bar. Well, technically it was his last name, but knowing the guy, I PROMISE that's now why he called himself that. Looking at Hammer, you'd think he was either 40 years old or like, 70. But listening to him... well... you'd think he was 16. Told the BEST jokes and kept you laughing the whole time. With his long beard that would make Santa jealous, he'd tell you the difference between pizza and pussy. And then why he and his brothers had long as skinny dicks.

If you sat with him long enough, he'd spit some knowledge on you, too. Those "sixteen years" he'd been alive gave him some wisdom. He'd talk about religion, he'd talk about all the people that he's come into contact with, he'd talk about coming out at a late age. He'd talk about women and men. He'd talk about penises and vaginas butt holes and all the things in between. Taints, I think they're called.

We lost Hammer yesterday, January 22, 2023. And although i didn't know him very long, that man made an impact on my life. And I am going to miss seeing this little ass at the bar. My heart is broken into a million pieces. Sleep well, baby.

It doesn't take much to be kind. You don't know how you're impacting someone's life, just know that you are. Hug your friends a tight and tell them you love them. It's important whether you know it or not.

Until next time...
