I hate myself a lot. Like. I hate myself a LOT of the time. I suffer from depression which is not a "curable" thing.There are so many reasons I can tell you why I don't want to be here.
But.
I can give you so many reasons I am. And it is because of these people.
Cindy Lynn Esparza Medick/Philip Medick
I first met Cindy in 11th grade for me. I can say "Frutopia" and she'll know exactly how we met. And then we worked at Hastings together. At 18 years old, we RAN that place. We ran it greatly, but we may or may not have been the downfall of the company. We sing together. Alllll the time. And she is SO much better than me. I have recordings of her and it literally makes me want to sing because she is so good! And the kindest, most PATIENT heart. We went through things together so many times that we fought, loved, sang, judged, supported, and "lived" together. She is my sister. And I love her.
I remember when I accepted Philsy. It was at Mac's Tavern and she was singing. He said to me, "isn't this beautiful?" And I was done. He had my respect and my support and I've loved him since.
Andrew John Stelzer/Kristin Price Stelzer
Ha. Andrew and I met junior year in high school. Sort of. I've "known" him since 6th grade, but never even talked to him until 11th grade. When we had physics together and I walked up to him and said, "do you know what we are doing in there? Because I do not." He laughed and we were immediate friends. And cheated off the same person to pass the class. He's my heterosexual life partner, to his denial and yet... acceptance. Ha. Just ask his wife.Whom may like me more than him but anyway.......
I asked KP what her intentions were at the very beginning. And she said the perfect thing. That is love and this nigga is my heterosexual partner. It worked and I couldn't be happier.
Brian Earnest Solis/Kelsey Ream Solis
B and I literally talk every day of our lives. Daily check ins, daily frustrations, daily moods! Thankfully, FB messenger is available and we both hate people enough to talk allllll the time about how much it affects our daily lives. He is my daily therapist. My daily sound board. My daily sponge of buulshit. This guy is the most responsible family person I know and married his equal that it's amazing.
Kelsey and I were IMMEDIATE friends. Kind of started talking shit about all the things at the same time and I will almost let go of B before her at that time. I SAID AT THAT TIME, B. DANG. She is still my relationship mother. And I appreciate it.
Leonor Cerda Thompson/Shane Thompson
I've said this once before and I'll say it every time: when she and I are together, be prepared to be entertained. I don't know what it is about her and I together that makes us so much more funny. Laurel and Hardy ain't got shit on us. She and I have been connected since probably 7th grade and we're 40. Well she's 41, but who's counting. (Me).
Shane and I kept in touch when Leo and he split up. Just don't tell her. I have ALWAYS appreciated his love for her and he knows how to do that for her. The most genuine person, this guy.
Ramon Mendoza Valle/Alma Breseno Vallla
Ramon and I have been friends since he moved to Texas in 7th grade. I was the speech writer at his wedding, he was the person who literally gave me pants when my apartment was robbed and I had A pair of pants that I was wearing when I got home. The most GENEROUS person in the world!!! I can't tell you how much of an idiot he is - I mean, how great he is. (He'll get it.)
I MAY have been the first person that met her and the FIRST time I met Alma, I swear, I SAW it. I saw these two together. And because of how smart and patient she was. Ha.
Mindee Mecil Miller Joslin/Scott Joslin
Mindee and I have a story. And I LOVE to tell it. Ha. If you haven't heard it, I'll tell you it as soon as you meet her. We are basically the same person with different genitalia. Which is why we connect so much. She was there the DAY I came out and didn't let me fall. And still doesn't. And I can't tell you how much of a great person, how much of a CARING person, how much of a ride-or-die this bitch is....
I met Hotty Scotty a couple months into the relationship. And I am pretty positive I immediately gave my sign of approval. He did karaoke. He was "relatively" patient with Drunk Mindee, and was funny. Who wouldn't love him?
Sarah Phagan Black/Jason Black
These people married in 2011 and it couldn't be the most perfectly matched couple I know. I saw Sarah date people before. And it wasn't until she met Jason that I KNEW it was done. She is so fun!! She makes anyone in her presence happy. Jason will make SURE you're happy. It just fucking works and I am so PROUD that they allowed me to be in that wedding.
Joshua Charles Fuel/Allison
Josh and I met at college. (Go Bulldogs)
And it was almost IMMEDIATE best friends. I mean IMMEDIATE. Had a class together and probably a couple weeks later, we were in a car pool to Corsicana together. Knew too many mutual friends that we SHOULDN'T have known each other before. He was the COOLEST person I knew. And might still be. But don't tell him....
Ally came along and I KNEW he was done. She fit in so much, it was ridiculous. I mean RIGHT in. I had zero doubt.
Zachary Lynn Harris
Ha. Well. Zach and I dated for a minute. Twice. And obviously didn't work out. But I will never let go of this dummy. He is funny. And a lot the things I LOVE to hang out with all the times. OH, we fight. A lot. But for good reason. He keeps me grounded and I TRY to do the same. If he doesn't take it, THAT'S NOT MY FAULT!!
Jeff Andrews
Jeff and I were born on the same day, and we might be friends. He MIGHT be more attractive, but don't tell him that. HILARIOUS. Generous. Smart. Personable. Man... we might be twins? Ha. He is literally the greatest.
